DETECT GEF 2000 is the cheapest test gas for smoke detectors on the market, and it does not contain any dangerous substances!
How do test gases work for stand-alone or centrally connected SSI detectors?
They simulate the equivalent smoke at the start of a fire.
They must have the highest possible sensitivity and allow for the rapid activation of an alarm.
They must not obstruct or damage the detectors.
Are all products on the market equivalent?
Absolutely not! Let’s briefly analyze what the market offers in terms of health and cost.
IN TERMS OF HEALTH:
All products are presented in spray cans.
Some are under the use of butane propane propellant, which is absurd. The use of an extremely flammable and explosive gas in terms of fire safety is not the best, especially in a closed room.
Others contain ethanol (ethyl alcohol) or acetone. Spraying products containing it over the head, manually or with a pole, is a serious health risk.
Consider that:
ETHANOL FT 3: Depression of the central nervous system, severe irritation of the eyes and respiratory tract that are rapidly intolerable
ACETONE FT 48: Depression of the central nervous system, headache, dizziness, drunkenness, coma in some cases convulsive. Nausea, vomiting, hematemesis, metabolic acidosis. Narcotic effects cat.3. Specific toxicity for specific target organs.
The possible presence of ethanol or acetone is indicated on the SDS of chapter 9 of the supplier.
For comparison, below you can see a table where we compare the Detect GEF 2000 and a classic smoke detector of a competitor.
DETECT GEF 2000 uses a non-flammable, non-greasy, non-polluting gas as a propellant.

ECONOMIC:
Economically, DETECT GEF 2000 is the TOP. For an aerosol with a net active volume of 250 ml, industry experts recommend a spray time ranging from 3 to 4 seconds. DETECT GEF 2000 triggers an alarm after a spray of 1 second, no more, and allows 100 tests; therefore 3 to 4 times more than a traditional aerosol.
CONCLUSION:
DETECT GEF 2000 offers advantages not only in terms of safety for the operator, but also in economic terms; for the same volume, it lasts 3 or 4 times longer (+ sprays = + tests), and then, consequently, I also have to dispose of less waste!
