VEGETAL BIOTEC is a subsidiary of the TEC INVESTISSEMENTS group.
Its business is exclusively dedicated to the development, production and marketing of chemical specialties of vegetable origin, whose applications in industrial sectors meet their expectations for the improvement of toxicity, environmental and safety performances.
The research and development program has led VEGETAL BIOTEC to introduce on the market chemical specialties of agrochemical origin such as:
– Cleaning fluids for bitumen and tar, anti-adhesion agents, anti-adhesives for the installation and removal of road coverings.
– Lubricants, coolants for treating piece saws and tree trunk cutting.
– Lubricants, cleaning and anti-corrosive fluids for the maintenance of machines in the wood industry.
– Detergents for the elimination of light hydrocarbons and heavy hydrocarbons.
All Formulations are VOC-free, without petroleum products, biodegradable; they improve hygiene, safety, without any impact on the environment.
Today we want to tell you how VEGETAL BIOTEC has developed a special product for the removal and cleaning of bitumen.
The cleaning operations of the machines and tools on the road cover storage sites are traditionally carried out with petroleum products such as naphtha, diesel oil or from esters derived from vegetable oils (rapeseed, soybeans).
Unfortunately, methyl esters of vegetable oils can cause significant problems with paints, headlight plastics, degradation of hydraulic hoses and rubbers.
To eliminate the problems of material degradation and further improve the hygiene and safety of workers (no emission of volatile substances during the application of hot bitumen at 160° C), VEGETAL BIOTEC has developed BIO 3010. This product is made with new generation esters, which are specifically developed by his research laboratory.
BIO 3010 is a concentrated fluid for cleaning bitumen, is an anti-adhesive, and is completely odorless.
Made based on new generation plant esters, it can be used pure or diluted in water.
It is compatible with the coating paints of the machinery, with the plastic materials of the optics, with the rubber and elastomers of the hydraulic pipes.
The formulation is solvent-free and VOC-free
Thanks to the ROAD MATERIALS LABORATORY DIATI – Department of Environmental, Territory and Infrastructure Engineering of the Politecnico di Torino, we had the opportunity to test BIO 3010 and evaluate its real cleaning capacity.
The Road Materials Laboratory of DIATI operates in the field of road infrastructures by means of teaching activities, research investigations, technical and scientific consultancies, and third-party services in accordance with art. 49 of the Consolidated Act – Royal Decree 1592/33. It is an official laboratory as identified by art. 59 of the D.P.R. n. 380/2001, authorized to issue certificates and test reports valid for the purpose of testing construction products.
Experimental scientific research activities are mainly developed in the field of materials used for the construction of road infrastructures, with an emphasis on the design of innovative and sustainable materials, and on the development of test protocols and new technologies. The laboratory also offers the possibility of developing experimental theses.
Thanks to the skills of the ICAR/04 research group, the Road Materials Laboratory can assist its clients in solving specific design and construction problems, in managing disputes and in the scientific coordination of development activities and industrial research.
Third-party activities include laboratory and field tests for the control and verification of materials, pavements and works performed for the construction of road infrastructures. Issued certificates are valid for the verification of construction products (e.g. CE marking).
In the photos below, see how BIO 3010 was able to clean and remove bitumen from some components of the laboratory equipment.
