In the occasion of World Climate Day, Purmate, at the forefront for ten years, proposing products for the industry with low environmental impact, would like to have our say.
Television, newspapers, websites, blogs fill their mouths with big words for a day on the subject of pollution of the planet, and tomorrow?
For ten years we have been fighting every day to offer the Italian industrial world ecological, biodegradable products derived from vegetable sources as an alternative to those derived from oil sources, which have the ability to emit harmful volatile substances into the atmosphere, overheating the planet and increasing the greenhouse effect, and contribute to the expansion of the ozone hole!
For the last ten years most of the Italian industry has failed to incorporate the products we offer for a simple reason …. in their opinion they are expensive! They are expensive in appearance, because if you take into consideration all the regulations to be followed to use petroleum-based solvents in order to protect the health of the operator and the environment, making the workplace compliant, it is easy to make an assessment of what costs us the least in the long term.
Sometimes we are asked to evaluate its costs and benefits on behalf of the same customer.
So we wonder, what will be left in the aftermath of this beautiful event? What will our children have understood about this day in the name of good intentions? And above all, what will governments, politics and industry do to improve our sick planet, if we put all the money first?
In our small way, we do our best, proposing our ecological products and sensitizing the client to work well for a better future … few words and many facts !!!
Many products that we offer have symbols that often many of us do not know, and that clearly identify the ecological characteristics of the product.
Below is a brief explanation of the symbols and their relative meaning.
In accordance with the EU COMMISSION Recommendation 2017/84from January 16, 2017 regarding the monitoring of mineral oilhydrocarbons in foods and in materials and articles intended for foodcontact.
ODP Ozone depletion potential.
PDOPotentiel de destruction de la couche d’ozone).
Potential of a gas to destroy the ozone layer in the upper atmosphere.Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and brominated Chlorofluorocarbons(BFCs) have a high ODP therefore are NOT used by iBiotec.
EU regulation No 517/2014 of 16 April 2014 on fluorinated greenhouse gases (Directive F. Gases) prohibits use and release of
greenhouse gases into the atmosphere with a GWP (global warming potential) above 150. This ban took effect on January 1st, 2018.
Solvent compounds, such as the mixture of MFC 365 and 227 Ea, will therefore be banned. GWP 0 this guarantees the total absence of
greenhouse gases.
Logo and trademark registered by Ademe. The carbon footprint refers to the totalamount of greenhouse gas emissions produced throughout the life cycle of a productbefore it is placed on the market, as well as, the accounting of direct or indirectemissions from an activity or a site. It must take into account the emissions resultingfrom human activity such as harvesting, trituration, esterification, manufacturing, transport and waste management. It imposes a thorough understanding andaccountability of a product’s life cycle and the full range of its environmental effectsaccording to ISO 14040 LCA (life-cycle analysis). Balance sheets are establishedaccording to the current ISO 14064 series of International Standards forenvironmental management. 4.57kg Eq C / 1 ton.
Our policy:Risk-Free Solutions and Support.
Primary biodegradation according to CEC L 33 T 82. Easy biodegradability according to OECD 301 A, ISO 7827. Ready Biodegradable as defined by the OCDE 310 C Modified MITI. Classified as hazardous forwater according to the WGK list, German standard. Bioaccumulation,octanol-water partitioning index (log KOW) based on OECD 107.
Agrosourced solvents and lubricants come from the wood, cereals or oilseedsectors. IBiotec guarantees the use of saturated raw materials without compounds dangerous for man and the environment. Some solvents calledagrosolvants, green solvents or bio-solvents are toxic for man and the environment. We guarantee a residual methanol content of Zero resulting fromtransesterification.
VOC Defined:
Any substance or organic mixture that during use, exist in a gaseous stateor evaporates easily under usual conditions of temperature and pressure. Therefore, solvents are would be taken into consideration if they have avapor pressure greater than 0.01 Kpa at a temperature of 293 15 K (68 °F).
NOTE: Butane-propane mixtures used as a propellant in aerosols are considered VOC.
